Poppy's Tail by Cate Douglas

Poppy dreams it would be fun to have a tail. But which kind will she choose? She tries out many different animal tails, then invents her own and finds lots of amusing and original ways to use it.

With vibrant illustrations and light-hearted rhyme, Poppy's Tail is a playful and engaging picture book, designed to captivate a young child's imagination and also entertain the reader. Age range 3-6 years.

5 stars - Wonderfully written book 29 January 2020 Amazon

We were lucky enough to have Cate visit our Primary school and read Poppy's Tail to our Y1 and 2 children. The book is a delight, and children were engrossed and completely engaged during the reading. Poppy's Tail is a joyful tale (pun intended) that will appeal to children (and adults). The pictures support English language learners. It has rhyming words. I can't wait for the sequel!

5 stars - A great introduction to storytelling 2 February 2018 Amazon

This is a beautifully written and illustrated book that holds young children captivated. It is colourful, glossy, great value for money and right on trend. I love the way creativity and imagination is promoted.

5 stars 26 July 2017 Amazon

This is an adorable book. It is written in rhyme with lovely colourful illustrations. It involves humour and a broad selection of words - some of which are simple for young children but also a few that are challenging. It really made me smile and I can't wait to read it with my young nephews/niece. I think it is the sort of book young children will want you to read again and again, and I can see how it will fire imaginative discussions.
