Poppy's Tail
Wonderfully written book
We were lucky enough to have Cate visit our Primary school and read Poppy’s Tail to our Y1 and 2 children. The book is a delight, and children were engrossed and completely engaged during the reading. Poppy’s tail is a joyful tale (pun intended) that will appeal to children (and adults). The pictures support English language learners. It has rhyming words. I can’t wait for the sequel!

Great book for little ones
We love this book at our children’s cafe! We were lucky enough to have Cate Douglas share the delightful story with us and it captivated little ones who loved the different tails and the chance to try on their own tails and dance to Poppy’s song too. Great for children from babies up to around age 7 but even our 9 year old joined in the fun.

Delightful tale
This is a delightful book for children and adults to share. Both grandsons have enjoyed it, now have their own copies and I’m about to buy another copy to keep at my house because it was such fun and has so many crafting opportunities. The illustrations are very appealing and the story line great for diversity and inclusion discussions. Well done Cate, look forward to the next book.

​This is an adorable book. It is written in rhyme with lovely colourful illustrations. It involves humour and a broad selection of words - some of which are simple for young children but also a few that are challenging. It really made me smile and I can't wait to read it with my young nephews/neice. I think it is the sort of book young children will want you to read again and again, and I can see how it will fire imaginative discussions about Poppy's tail..... and who knows what Poppy will be up to in her next story.

Highly recommended for Early Years classrooms
This is such a simple, yet highly effective, rhyming story, perfect for promoting discussion in an Early Years classroom. I've used it for three years running now with my Reception classes and the creativity and vocabulary it inspires is fabulous, as they imagine, describe and eventually design and create their own dream tail. Such a great find which I would highly recommend for the 3-5 age group.

Great Children's Book!
Poppy's Tail is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it. What a wonderful book!
My kids (2&5) really enjoyed reading it. Lovely illustrations and the rhyming. We found there's lots of activities you can do to assist the book such as making your own tail. Well worth adding to any book shelf.

The girls just LOVE it
I bought this book to entertain my two lovely Nieces. This is a lovely book, a simple but charming story with equally charming, un-cluttered illustrations and layout. More importantly, the girls just LOVE IT, all three of us almost know it word for word now. Thoroughly recommend this proper return to childhood innocence.

This is a lovely book which has really engaged a gorgeous 3 year old old little boy. He loved choosing his favourite tail. A bonus is that his 6 year old sister enjoys reading it to him so it works on two levels. I thoroughly recommend this book and look forward to more from the author.

A great introduction to storytelling
This is a beautifully written and illustrated book that holds young children captivated. It is colourful, glossy, great value for money and right on trend. I love the way creativity and imagination is promoted. I note from Twitter Cate Douglas is prepared to go and read the book in reception classes which is great for children on every level. I will certainly recommend a visit to my local primary school.

Fabulous book
I bought Poppy's Tail for my granddaughter for her birthday. To say she loves it is an understatement. She takes it everywhere with her and it's starting to look a little worn. The pictures are wonderful - bright and colourful. Highly recommended for small people.

Wonderful book full of colours, rhymes and joy!
I bought this book as a present for my friend's little boy. From the moment he unwrapped it his mum has had to read it to him every day. My 2 year old loves it!
A creatively written and well-illustrated children’s book, bringing to life a whole host of different characters, which my 2 (nearly 3) year old loves. It’s great for teaching them about different animals, the colours and using their imagination. It’s a favourite bedtime read and so well laid out and brightly illustrated that it can read in dim light. I highly recommend it...great find!

Brave in a Cave is a lovely seaside adventure story for young children with plucky little boat characters. I shared it with my granddaughter who loved the colourful illustrations.

I got this book for my little boy ahead of our upcoming seaside holiday.
Brave in a Cave is a delightful and beautifully written storybook by Cate Douglas about a community of chatty little boats with personalities to match. Needless to say, my son took particular delight in Pips and Squeaks - the ‘noisy twins’ - whose love for adventure does lead them into a bit of a pickle. A lovely read for little ones - perfect for summer time!

My 4 year old niece and I love this book. Clear, easy-to-read text and beautiful illustrations in bold colours. Nice little lesson, too, for young ones. Apparently the first in a series of books so, hopefully, won’t have to wait too long for the second. A TV series surely in the offing, too?
